- ➤ On Friday, a federal judge will hear arguments on Dominion Energy's challenge to the 90-day suspension of its offshore wind project off Virginia Beach—if the judge is convinced, construction will resume from a pause imposed over national security concerns. WTKR
- ➤ Amtrak trips between Hampton Roads and Washington, D.C. are temporarily replaced by bus service as crews expand rail service on the Long Bridge (a 100-year-old structure) with two trains each from Norfolk and Newport News plus two direct buses. 13News Now
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Virginia health officials reported a preschool-age child from the Eastern Region (including Hampton Roads) died from flu complications, marking the first pediatric fatality of the 2025–26 flu season. The department urged eligible Virginians to get vaccinated as flu activity remains moderate. 13News Now
- ➤ A report shows that trauma teams at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Virginia Beach General Hospital treated 135 electric scooter riders for injuries in 2025, with most accidents occurring at night when riders were inebriated and few wore helmets. 13News Now
