Virginia Beach-based Operation Blessing has launched a major home rebuilding effort in Jamaica and plans to rebuild at least 50 homes for families hit by Hurricane Melissa.

Virginia Beach City Hall unveiled a land acknowledgment plaque on Thursday to honor indigenous tribes after a two-year project with input from 11 tribes.
The plaque is now permanently displayed in the lobby as a reminder of their contributions.

A developer presented a revised plan to build 143 homes + restore the former Signature at West Neck Golf Course to nine holes, which has raised concerns over views and traffic.
