- ➤ After a massive fire in July 2023 that destroyed several Oceanfront businesses, the Atlantic Waffle Company now takes the place of the retired Maple Tree Pancake House and the T-shirt Factory has reopened. A new Italian restaurant will open by Memorial Day to complete the modern building. WTKR

- ➤ Virginia Beach police searched two smoke shops on the 5400+3600 blocks of Virginia Beach Boulevard in an illegal marijuana distribution investigation and discovered raw marijuana, marijuana products and synthetic cannabinoids amid a rise in burglaries targeting these shops. WTKR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Regent University is constructing new athletic fields and a facility along Centerville Tpke where missing trees mark the ongoing project. The project will include a baseball field, softball field, track, turf field and athletic and fitness center – planned to open in Fall – as part of its push for NCAA Division III membership. WTKR
