- ➤ On March 22, high school baseball saw Greenbrier Christian beat Collegiate 9 to 4 and Steward 16 to 0 while Atlantic Shores won 15 to 0 over Steward and 3 to 2 over Trinity Episcopal, and Cox 17 recorded a five-inning no-hitter against Gonzaga from D.C. In softball, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy triumphed 10 to 1 over Fredericksburg Christian while Bishop O’Connell won 11 to 3 over Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Greenbrier Christian beat Perquimans from N.C. 6 to 4, and boys soccer ended in a 0 to 0 tie between Landstown and Deep Run. - ➤ Larry Vickers — a Virginia Beach native — led Norfolk State’s women’s basketball team to conference wins and three trips to the NCAA Tournament, and he was hired by Auburn University as its new head coach.
