- ➤ Virginia Beach City Public Schools may raise ticket prices by 10% for sporting events to cover extra costs for coaching salaries, equipment upgrades, and security. The school board will vote on the proposal April 8 and if approved the changes will take effect for the school year starting in 2025 and ending in 2026 — concerns over rising costs prompted the plan. - ➤ Virginia is set to use new technology under HB2096 to slow speeding drivers by letting judges require a device in a car that stops it from going over the speed limit when a driver is convicted of reckless driving or speeding over 100 mph+ if the governor accepts the amendment, the law will go into effect in July.
