A power outage from a vehicle accident affected nearly 1,200 customers in Virginia Beach Friday afternoon and Dominion Energy said service would be restored between 4 and 7 p.m.

On Tuesday night, Virginia Beach City Public Schools leaders presented a proposal to raise ticket prices and charge for events that were free during school sports.

The plan increases high school adult tickets from $7 to $10 and middle school adult tickets from $3 to $8 — the measures are expected to generate over $369,000 to support programs and coaching.
