CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Tidewater Wildlife Rescue reported that a man beat a male Canadian goose to death with a curtain rod last Thursday night near 144 Business Park Drive in Virginia Beach—causing the bird to die during treatment—and they have turned the case over to the Department of Wildlife Resources. WTKR
- ➤ Nora Horwitz, charged with second-degree murder for stabbing her father—a Virginia Beach dentist—in June, was found dead in her jail cell. The Virginian-Pilot
- ➤ A 19-year-old Georgia man was arrested on Saturday night at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront after police chased him amid a crowd of between 200 and 300 young people following reported gunshots and he now faces charges for unlawful concealment and reckless handling of a firearm, possession of an extended magazine, public intoxication, underage possession of alcohol and marijuana, and obstruction of justice (no injuries were reported). - ➤ A 20-year-old man named Joshua Rice was found shot dead in the 400 block of Osprey Street near North Witchduck Road and Virginia Beach Boulevard Friday night—detectives are investigating the case. WTKR
