- ➤ City Council voted Tuesday to make Celeste Kellogg's Driving East the official city song. The council presented her with a proclamation after her State of the City performance, and the city plans to feature the song at local community events & civic ceremonies. WHRO
- ➤ Virginia Beach City Council advanced a proposal for a flood surge barrier at Lynnhaven Inlet as part of its Coastal Storm Risk Management study with the Army Corps; the planned barrier will have tide gates near Lesner Bridge and remains in early planning with a feasibility study due in May. - ➤ A new law will require private insurers to offer at least one free birth control option in every category starting in 2027, lowering cost barriers and allowing patients to request specific coverage at pharmacies. WHRO
