- ➤ StandUp for Kids Hampton Roads Executive Director Nicole Pixler began her 48-hour fundraiser Friday at noon — setting up at Zero’s Subs on Virginia Beach Boulevard to collect $1,000 each hour for homeless youth. She hopes that the free Vibe Check music festival will bring visitors and boost donations to help reach the $48,000 goal and provide more shelter for kids. WAVY

- ➤ Police arrested a man on Friday outside Kempsville High School—he did not enter the building and was taken in for outstanding warrants—and officials said there is no ongoing threat to the school. WAVY

- ➤ Jackalope Festival will return to the Oceanfront from May 1 through June 1 plus feature events like street and vert skateboarding, bouldering and base jumping. The festival will then continue in Mississauga on July 11-13 and Montréal on Sept 12-14 while entries for the Golden Ticket Contest are accepted until April 28. WAVY
