An 18-year-old already charged in connection with a double shooting on Sassafras Court was now charged with a fatal shooting on South Budding Avenue when a stolen firearm linked the two incidents — police said.

The National Hurricane Center announced new changes for hurricane season that allow potential tropical cyclone advisories to be issued up to 72 hours ahead of tropical-storm-force winds or storm surge instead of the previous 48 or 36-hour limits.

The center will also update its storm cone to display inland watches and add a national rip current risk map when systems are active—helping local residents and emergency managers prepare.
