A fire on Lotus Creek Drive displaced three people and three dogs Monday morning when firefighters arrived around 10:15 a.m. and controlled the blaze by 11:00 a.m. while crews continued checking for hot spots at 3:30 p.m., with no injuries reported.
Virginia Beach leaders voted Tuesday to rename the Owl Creek Boat Ramp in honor of late delegate Barry D.
Knight (71), who served for more than 20 years. The renaming recognizes his decades of community service and ensures his legacy lives on along the water.
After paid parking began over a month ago at the Oceanfront, more than 9,000 residents applied for the free parking voucher program offering up to $50 in savings, although many are still unaware of it + City officials expect participation to grow as word spreads.
