  • Firefighters responded quickly on Thursday morning to a home fire on Sir Barton Drive in the Carolanne Farms area that displaced three adults, two cats, and two dogs while officials continue investigating the cause.  WAVY

  • Virginia Beach police arrested Jennifer Mulligan after she fatally shot her 90-year-old father, Woodard McClure, at their Rodney Lane home on Wednesday morning — officers arrived at about 11:11 a.m. and found him dead.  WTKR
  • On Wednesday in the 500 block of Rodney Lane, a 90-year-old man named Woodard McClure was fatally shot just after 11 a.m.—police arrested 43-year-old Jennifer Mulligan and charged her with first-degree murder in a domestic-related incident.  13News Now

  • Virginia Catholic leaders are celebrating the election of Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope, who was chosen on Thursday. Bishop Barry Knestout will celebrate by offering Mass today at noon at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart — fueling hope in the local community.  13News Now
  • Volunteers at the Military Aviation Museum collected rubbings from 42 British soldiers’ gravestones at 12 cemeteries in Hampton Roads and North Carolina to honor their service during World War II—each grave producing three copies to be sent to a museum, a genealogical project, and surviving family members. This project marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war and helps bring a piece of history back home.  WAVY

  • Port CEO Stephen Edwards said the Port of Virginia is less affected by new tariffs since trade with China makes up only 19% of its cargo and diversified international partners keep business strong.   • On the 71st anniversary of Brown v.
