Two volunteer rescue members were injured when their ambulance collided near Baker Road — Wesleyan Drive on Saturday at 1:40 p.m. in Virginia Beach, and both were treated at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital with minor injuries.

On Friday night, a fire at the Emerald Isle—Regency Apartments displaced eight residents and injured one firefighter when crews found heavy smoke from five affected units, and officials are still investigating the cause.

Officers were called to the 600 block of Oleander Circle in Kempsville at 12:20 on Saturday and found the body of an adult female—police are investigating the homicide with no known community threat.
