- ➤ Last weekend, Landyn Davis visited LEGOLAND with his family after being shot by a stray bullet a year ago, and his wish was granted by Merlin’s Magic Wand Children’s Charity. His family has started the Landyn Davis Foundation to help gun violence victims and will host a community motorcycle ride on July 26th at Bayside Harley-Davidson in Portsmouth to raise funds. WTKR
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An apartment fire on Dadson Court left five people displaced and one person seriously injured early Tuesday, and police reported that a person was found unconscious and taken to a hospital — officers redirected traffic at Pleasure House Road while investigators worked the scene. WTKR
- ➤ A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at an apartment building with two stories in the 4700 block of Dadson Court that killed one person and two cats—fire crews controlled the blaze within 20 minutes and the American Red Cross assisted displaced residents. 13News Now

- ➤ A 15-year-old teen was arrested Friday, May 23 in Virginia Beach when police saw a stolen car driving erratically on De Laura Ln. and Sancillio Dr—he was charged with receiving stolen property, hit and run, and driving without a license as officers responded to his attempted escape. WAVY
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Naval Air Station Oceana discovered the first loggerhead sea turtle nest of the season at Dam Neck Annex on May 21, marking the earliest record at this site and the second-earliest in Virginia. The station secured the area and posted signs to protect the endangered sea turtles. WAVY
