  • Virginia State Police issued a critically missing adult alert Tuesday evening for 57-year-old Michael Venson Johnson after he was last seen at 4:04 p.m. in the 5000 block of Heatherton Ct wearing a black shirt, black pants and a black hat—he is 5'7, weighs 140 pounds and has brown eyes with black hair.  WAVY

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Economic experts say hostilities between Israel and Iran are pushing up oil prices, which may raise costs for Virginia farmers and lead to higher grocery prices—rising expenses for fuel, fertilizer and feed will further impact food costs. Local market players expect the increase in input costs to eventually translate into more expensive groceries.  WAVY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Voters turned out for early voting in Virginia’s 2025 Primary election with about 100 people at Norview Middle School in Norfolk and nearly 200 at the Chrysler Museum, while early votes in other areas were recorded at low percentages. Political analyst Dr. Eric Claville said turnout was unprecedented and driven by economic worries — a key issue for many local families — and noted that prominent Hampton Roads candidates will help shape the upcoming November election.  WTKR
