Virginia Beach City Council funded a drone program for police incident response at the Oceanfront by transferring $1.3M from salary savings, and Police Chief Paul Neudigate said the drones will launch during calls to capture live video – helping first responders see the situation sooner. The program may later expand to support additional public safety agencies in the city.
