Hampton Roads Transit's VB Wave trolley offers an affordable ride to beat traffic and high parking costs near the Oceanfront and will run daily through Labor Day weekend along the boardwalk, Virginia Aquarium, and shopping districts—residents and tourists can ride all day for $4.50 while plans to add tap-to-pay are underway.

Virginia Wesleyan University and Sentara Health announced they are expanding their academic partnership—signing a Letter of Intent to create the new Sentara College of Health Sciences—at the Virginia Wesleyan campus.

The expanded partnership will boost student access to health programs and help prepare the future healthcare workforce in Coastal Virginia.

A mixed use development on Laskin Road will add 132 luxury apartments, 10,000 square feet of retail space and a new traffic signal to ease turning hazards.

The Franklin Group, which purchased the former school board property to redevelop as its headquarters, said the apartments will be finished this winter with move-ins slated for March — a move expected to improve local traffic safety.
