A small shark was spotted in Lynnhaven Inlet at Chic's Beach early Wednesday at 7 a.m. by Elise Wood, and the video quickly gained views—Kristina Hedgepeth from the Virginia Aquarium said the shark might be a brown or sandbar species common in the Chesapeake Bay nursery.

Virginia Beach city attorney’s office said it may draft special enforcement zone language for presentation at next year’s General Assembly session to help VBPD manage large Oceanfront crowds after a busy spring with rising violent crime and more arrests — police are also reviewing policies like Trespassing Authorization Letters, revised curfews, and parking changes to further assist with crowd control.
