- ➤ Hampton Roads and Southside Harley-Davidson teamed with the Virginia Beach Police Foundation to launch the 2025 Reese and Girvin Street Glide Raffle, with all proceeds supporting the families of Officers Christopher Reese and Cameron Girvin who were shot in February. Raffle tickets cost $100 each and are limited to 500 with the winner to be announced Sept. 13—tickets are available at the Yorktown and Witchduck Road dealerships. 13News Now

- ➤ A residential fire broke out Saturday afternoon in the Green Run area on the 1400 block of Old Lyne Road at approximately 4:10 p.m.—crews had the fire under control by 4:21 p.m. and the Red Cross is helping the two displaced residents. WAVY

- ➤ The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group passed through the Strait of Gibraltar Saturday as part of its scheduled deployment from Naval Station Norfolk to help maintain freedom of navigation amid rising tensions. The nearly 4,500-sailor group worked alongside the Spanish Navy—its mission remains clear despite ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. WAVY

- ➤ Sentara Healthcare now lets patients check wait times for five emergency departments — including three locations in Virginia Beach — and plans to add 12 more by year’s end. The online tool also lets patients schedule same-day urgent care appointments for non-life-threatening conditions. WAVY
