- ➤ A Virginia Beach judge Tuesday denied bond for 28-year-old Mijeul Reynolds Butler—accused of recording a video of a 7-year-old and trying to meet an undercover investigator posing as a 13-year-old—with prosecutors expecting additional charges after reviewing his phone. WAVY

- ➤ Rep. Jen Kiggans and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs announced plans for a nearly $80 million VA clinic to expand healthcare, mental health services and benefit counseling for veterans in Hampton Roads. VA intends to award the contract by the end of this fiscal year—construction will finish in 2028 with patient services beginning in spring. WAVY
- ➤ Virginia Task Force 1 returned to the Commonwealth on Monday after spending two and a half weeks in Texas helping search and rescue teams look for survivors amid deadly floods in Kerr County (the team includes Canine Specialist Kristi Bartlett and her Belgian Malinois Athena who now looks forward to rest).
