- ➤ Virginia Beach is planning to add more Oceanfront parking by constructing two new garages. The city has issued a request for proposals for a garage near 19th Street and Parks Avenue with proposals due by October 20 — and City Council may revisit a deal for a 348-spot garage on 35th Street that could open next year. - ➤ Fitness instructor Patricia Graves, 33, collapsed last Wednesday during pullups when she suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and underwent surgery at Chesapeake Regional Hospital—doctors found six aneurysms and a severe stroke. Her recovery will take weeks to months and donations are being accepted since she does not have health insurance. WAVY
- ➤ A Virginia Beach resident had a medical emergency when she experienced a seizure while driving near Honeybee Golf Course on South Independence Boulevard earlier this week—her window was broken by a man golfing nearby and helped by a passing couple until paramedics arrived.
