- ➤ Brooke Johnson became the first woman to skateboard across the country when she finished her 118-day trip in Virginia Beach on Friday, raising over $50,000 for spinal cord injury research in honor of her stepdad and partnering with Wings for Life to improve care. Hundreds welcomed her as she skated the final five miles to the boardwalk and dunked her skateboard in the ocean — a symbolic finish to her journey — amid cheers from the community. 13News Now

- ➤ Virginia Beach police asked for the public's help to locate a man linked to a shooting on Gulfstream Circle on August 3 — detectives said any photos, videos, or details from that night could help solve the case. 13News Now
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Virginia Beach City Schools employees and retirees will face a big rise in health insurance premiums starting January 1; employee costs will increase by up to $210.97 per pay period and retirees by up to $445.25 per month. Education Association President Heather Sipe said many feel upset by the late notice — and school officials explained that rising medical and pharmacy costs forced the decision. WTKR
