- ➤ Gov. Glenn Youngkin said state resources are ready to support Hampton Roads first responders as Hurricane Erin nears today, with state police pre-positioning boats and crews along the coast (including deployments on the Eastern Shore). The governor advised residents to avoid heavy water and not drive through floods (he stressed that road conditions would continue to be monitored). WTKR
- ➤ Virginia Beach city leaders held a press conference Wednesday to explain steps taken ahead of Hurricane Erin's expected pass near the east coast with high winds and coastal flooding. The city opened four Town Center garages—Maroon, Red, Green, and Orange—to help residents move their vehicles to higher ground. WTKR
