- ➤ Two adults and two children were displaced by a townhouse fire on the 3300 Block of Weeping Willow Lane (Monday evening at 8:42 p.m.) when crews extinguished the fire sparked by an overloaded extension cord, though a dog died despite rescue attempts with no injuries reported among residents or firefighters. - ➤ A kitchen fire in a townhouse on Weeping Willow Lane displaced one man and killed a dog on Monday night in Virginia Beach—firefighters arrived at 8:42 p.m. and contained the blaze by 9:21 p.m. 13News Now

- ➤ Trader Joe’s will open 7 new stores across the U.S.—the list now has 33 locations spanning 19 states and Washington, D.C. Some stores, including the Virginia Beach location at 220 Constitution Drive, are slated for a grand opening in 2025. 13News Now

- ➤ Jennifer Mulligan appeared in Virginia Beach court Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder for shooting her 90-year-old father in their Rodney Lane home in May—during the hearing a 911 call was played in which she admitted to the act and her attorney linked her actions to longstanding family issues. - ➤ Virginia Beach will celebrate music icon Timbaland from Oct. 17 to Oct. 19 with events including a street naming of Timbaland Way—city leaders passed an ordinance for a dedication ceremony at Salem High School that is expected to draw over 5,000 attendees.
