- ➤ On Tuesday, the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office held its third job fair at the city's correctional center where 72 inmates nearing the end of their sentences met with 15 local employers + career specialists to boost their job search. Sheriff Rocky Holcomb said the event is part of broader efforts including GED programs and vocational training to reduce recidivism. WTKR
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Virginia Beach paramedic Bailey Hartley made the COLT Kit— a box of sensory tools such as noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, fidget spinners, and a board— to help first responders talk with people upset by loud sirens and bright lights. She created the kit after noticing a gap in care for those with special needs and EMS has already used it in emergencies. 13News Now
