Level Green Park reopened today in Virginia Beach after more than a year of renovations.

The park now features upgraded basketball courts, new amenities, enhanced security, and a splash pad scheduled to open later as part of summer community programs.

A fire in a multi-family home’s garage on Gadwall Place displaced six residents and a dog Friday around 3:15 p.m., but no one was injured and the Red Cross is assisting with temporary housing.

Republic Road near Laskin Road is closed today for an emergency water main repair that diverts traffic to First Colonial Road; nearby water service north of Laskin Road between Victor Road and Regency Drive may be affected.

Crews are working with no estimated completion time provided.
