- ➤ A fire at Palms Apartments on Friday evening near Rosemont Road and Virginia Beach Boulevard displaced 21 people including nine children, and community members donated clothes, toys and household items while local school staff and the Red Cross assisted — families are receiving help ahead of the Christmas season. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Dominion Energy warned that a federal 90-day pause on offshore wind projects (including its Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project) threatens grid reliability as delays could raise energy costs and risk thousands of jobs. The company plans to work with officials to resume construction soon. 13News Now
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ In March, a wetlands renovation at Pleasure House Point removed 5,200 trees, prompting neighbors to demand a one-for-one replacement. City officials say 700 trees have been replanted & no timeline is set for planting the remaining 4,500 trees. WTKR

- ➤ Dr. Harrington at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters advises residents to get the flu shot as soon as possible in light of 472 children who tested positive last weekend and potential spread during holiday gatherings before Christmas.
