To begin with a bartender-crafted cocktail as a welcoming beverage

1st - Manouri Salad

Asian Pear, Candied Walnut, Arugula, Honey Truffle Vinaigrette

Pairing - Roy Estate Mr. Evans 2022

95 Pts Jeb Dunnuck - The 2022 Mr. Evans Proprietary Red is based on 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot, all from the Estate Vineyard. It has a bright, perfumed nose of red, blue, and black fruit as well as purple flowers, iron, and crushed stone. It has a remarkable freshness, medium to full body, supple tannins, and a great finish.

Retail Price: $340

2nd - Sesame Seared Tuna Tartare

Jumbo Lump Crab, Aged Soy, Served in a Shrimp Rice Bowl

Pairing - Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

96 Pts Jeb Dunnuck - The 2022 Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is based on a blend of hillside parcels in the vintage. Cassis, black raspberries, lead pencils, violets, and even some leafy herb notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has nicely integrated oak, and a great finish.

Retail Price: $340

3rd - Crab & Heirloom Tomato Stuffed Halibut

En Papillote with Miso Crema

Pairing - Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

95 Pts Wine Advocate - The very deep purple-black colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a very pretty nose of fresh black cherries, red and black plums, boysenberries and lilacs with wafts of licorice, cassis, unsmoked cigars and fragrant earth. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm, rugged frame with lovely, pure, perfumed black fruit, finishing with great freshness.

Retail Price: $340

4th - Chilean Sea Bass

Aged Pecorino Romano Crusted, Almond, Red Pepper, Basil Oil

Pairing - Roy Estate Proprietary Red 2010

91 Pts Wine Advocate - Roy’s 2010 Proprietary Red has a little more delineation and nuance than the 2009. Freshly cut flowers, violets, super ripe dark fruit, mocha, espresso, chocolate, plums, cassis and black currants all jump from the glass in this opulent full-bodied huge wine. Layers of fruit continue to build to the creamy, expressive finish. Proprietor Shirley Roy and her consulting winemaker Philippe Melka have a done a great job with these current and upcoming releases. The 2009s have turned out just as well as I had hoped, while the 2010s – the product of tiny yields – are a touch more complex.

Retail Price: $400

Final - Turtle Cheesecake

Listed by Yiannis Wine & Food (Wix Events), gathered by the Virginia Beach events calendar.
