EDUCATION NEWS

  • Virginia Beach School Board voted 9-1 on Monday to keep the dual language immersion program by consolidating it at Virginia Beach Middle School due to staffing and program concerns. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials cited nearly 100 Oceanfront businesses for breaking sign rules meant to keep Atlantic Avenue neat; one store, Memory Lane Old Time Photos, had to cover murals painted in 2023 by a local artist. Owner Joey Funaro said the change might cost him about $6,000 — his case is part of a crackdown that will continue as officials review the signage rules.  WTKR

HEALTH NEWS
