A fire at Palms Apartments on Friday evening near Rosemont Road and Virginia Beach Boulevard displaced 21 people including nine children, and community members donated clothes, toys and household items while local school staff and the Red Cross assisted — families are receiving help ahead of the Christmas season.

Dominion Energy warned that a federal 90-day pause on offshore wind projects (including its Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project) threatens grid reliability as delays could raise energy costs and risk thousands of jobs.
