A cold front and a line of storms soaked Hampton Roads on Friday. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach until 4 p.m., saying some areas could see three inches of rain or more. In Norfolk, heavy rain flooded streets and trapped cars in underpasses, including the Monticello Avenue underpass.

  • Outages: hundreds reported by by early afternoon
  • Jeep Fest: rain delay Friday at the Oceanfront
  • Also affected: high school football and an ODU public art festival

Landstown nipped Bayside, 22-21. Both teams end the regular season 6-4 and will hit the road next week for the first round of the playoffs.
